Bank fraud; Enforcement Directorate arrests Jet Airways CEO, Naresh Goyal

 

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal on suspicion of dealing in illicit money. He was detained in a case involving Rs 538 crore in bank fraud and money laundering. Goyalin, 74, was arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after being grilled for about eight hours at the ED headquarters in Mumbai. 

The CBI had earlier raided seven locations in Mumbai, including the homes of Naresh Goyal, his wife Anita Goyal, former company director Gauranka Shetty, and the Jet Airways office. Following that, the CBI filed a case against Goyal's wife, Anita, and other former corporate executives. Goyal appeared in court today following his arrest.
