The Canadian Prime Minister and his delegation could not return from the G-20 summit in India. The jet was preparing to return to Canada after the summit ended on Sunday when the Canadian Armed Forces detected a mechanical problem. Trudeau and his crew have remained in India since they are unable to address the problem. Flight CFC 001 experienced a mechanical malfunction. The flight was scheduled to depart at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The Prime Minister's Office reported that they were informed of the malfunction as Justin Trudeau and his team were heading for the airport. The office also noted that because the problem cannot be rectified overnight, the alternate system will continue to be used in India. Trudeau landed in India on Friday to attend the G20 conference. Trudeau's 16-year-old son, Xavier Trudeau, is among others in the group.
