Following accusations that former pilots of the Royal Canadian Air Force were instructing soldiers in China, the RCMP launched an investigation. According to a representative for the RCMP, the RCMP was informed that pilots of the People's Liberation Army Air Force had received training from the RCAF. Police stated that because the investigation is ongoing, they are withholding any other details. In accordance with local media, the Test Flying Academy of South Africa (TFASA) is teaching Chinese military pilots with the help of three former RCF fighter pilots. Ex-military pilots from the UK, Canada, and other NATO nations are also said to have received training at the aviation school in the Western Cape province. For training, substantial compensation is provided. Chinese military and civilian pilots will be trained by TFASA in China and South Africa.
