In a bilateral discussion as part of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited US President Joe Biden to the 2024 Republic Day celebrations. Eric Garcetti, the US Ambassador to India, was informed. Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was the special guest at this year's Republic Day ceremony.
Former US President Barack Obama in 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2007, and former French President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008 were the main guests at Republic Day ceremonies.
