The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has warned Indian citizens and those planning to visit Canada to be extremely cautious in light of rising anti-India sentiment in the country. As diplomatic relations with Canada deteriorated, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of involvement in the execution of Khalistan separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Both countries' diplomatic officials had been expelled. Indian nationals and students in Canada should contact the Indian High Commission in Ottawa or the Consulate General in Toronto via madad.gov.in. The Ministry of External Affairs has stated that registration via the website is required.
