For the third day in a row, Israel conducted airstrikes against terrorist strongholds in Gaza. The Israeli military initially claimed that Palestinian insurgents near the border fence fired explosives at soldiers and hurled incendiary balloons into Israel. However, no casualties from the attack have been noted to date. Early on Sunday, the Israeli military claimed to have attacked two Hamas strongholds east of the Buraij refugee camp and Jabalia. Hamas is the militant organization in control of Gaza.
The posts were close to the Israeli border barrier, where dozens of Palestinian protesters have been demonstrating every day for the past week. Tensions between Israel and Gaza have increased due to an increase in violence along their border.
