India's Green Revolution Father MS Swaminathan departed.

Dr. MS Swaminathan, recognized as the father of India's Green Revolution, passed away. He was 98 years old. He passed away at his home in Chennai. In the 1960s, he brought about a social revolution by enacting policies that saved India from famine-like conditions, establishing the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, and playing a critical role in creating high-yielding wheat varieties. This resulted in the Green Revolution in India. 

Swaminathan has received numerous international accolades and distinctions for his policy work, including the Albert Einstein World Science Award in 1986, the first World Food Prize in 1987, and the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement in 1991, Planet and Humanity. In 2000, he was awarded the International Geographical Union Medal. Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan were also bestowed to him.
Dr. MS Swaminathan's death was mourned by President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, and others.
