More than 13.5 crore Indians have been brought out of poverty in the previous five years, according to Union Minister Anurag Thakur. He paid a two-day visit to Mumbai. The minister claimed that 4 crore people in the nation now live in pukka homes, and 12 crore families have access to toilets as part of the "Garib Kalyan" initiative, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is spearheading. According to the minister, the central government gave 80 crore people free rations and piped water to 13 crore houses. He continued by saying that the government is giving the poor access to health care worth Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat program.
