Environment Canada forecasts that significant rain will fall on Vancouver Island that week, and that fall storms are on their way. According to Environment Canada meteorologist Gary Dickenson, 60 millimeters of rain are forecast Sunday night and Monday morning. Wind gusts of up to 60 km/h are predicted in Tofino, Inland Port, and Alberni, he says. There are currently no weather advisories in effect. According to Dickinson, there is no fear of flooding from the storm.

Meanwhile, eastern Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland will have 20 to 30 millimeters of rain overnight. Victoria is anticipated to receive only five millimeters of rain.
