The country's Durga Puja celebrations have begun.

 

Durga Puja, a five-day festival, has begun at temples nationwide. The celebrations began with Mahashashti Puja, which revealed the face of the Durga statue in the temples. The celebrations will finish on Tuesday with the immersion of Goddess Durga idols in rivers and other bodies of water. Dhaka police have undertaken elaborate security precautions at Dhakeshwari Temple, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Ramna Kali Temple, Jagannath Hall, and Banani Puja.
