Because of the risk of burns to users, Health Canada has recalled thousands of Insignia pressure cookers in Canada. According to Health Canada, the Insignia multi-function pressure cookers were recalled after it was discovered that they caused burns due to incorrect volume markings on the Inter pot. According to Health Canada, between October 2017 and June 2023, 10,000 Insignia multi-function pressure cookers were sold in Canada. Insignia multi-function pressure cookers with model numbers NS-MC60SS8-C, NS-MC60SS9-C, and NS-MC80SS9-C are included in the recall. According to Health Canada, if a pressure cooker is vented using the quick-release method when it heats up or is opened while in use, hot foods or liquids from inside the cooker can escape, increasing the risk of burns.
