Alberta Health Services will be completely reformed in the next 24 months.

The government has provided additional information about the reorganization of Alberta Health Care Services. The government has declared that AHS will be entirely reorganized within the next 18 to 24 months. The government stated that it would establish a provincial healthcare system by separating it into four distinct organizations: primary care, acute care, continuing care, and mental health and addiction facilities. In addition, 13 advisory organizations, including the Indigenous Council, will be constituted. Premier Daniel Smith stated that the initiative had nothing to do with privatization.
