The Carbon Tax Fairness for Families Amendment Act has been introduced in Saskatchewan. Bill 151 is another name for it. The proposal would mandate that provincial gas companies cease collecting the federal carbon fee on natural gas used for residential heating. The Saskatchewan government stated that the bill's objective is to safeguard Saskatchewan households from unjust and costly federal carbon pricing on their SaskEnergy bills. Dustin Duncan, the minister in charge of SaskEnergy, has stated that he is willing to face whatever consequences from the federal government if the carbon tax collection for natural gas home heating is discontinued.
