Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka. During his visit, he will inspect the manufacturing facilities, including the Tejas jet plant. The visit coincides with the Indian Air Force's recent award of a tender to HAL for the procurement of 12 cutting-edge Su-30MKI fighter fighters. The engines for the LCA Mark 2 and the first two squadrons of the indigenous Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) will be constructed in India, according to DRDO chief Dr Sameer V Kamath.HAL and GE from the United States will co-manufacture these engines in India.
