The federal government is offering three-year temporary resident visas to Canadian families in Gaza.

 

Immigration Minister Mark Miller announced additional temporary immigration measures to assist Canadian families in Gaza as well as Israeli and Palestinian citizens in Canada. Mark Miller announced that fee-free study permits or open work permits will be made accessible to immediate family members of Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

During this time, Israelis and Palestinians in Canada will be eligible for a fee-free study or open work permit, he said. Furthermore, Mark Miller stated that many Canadians are concerned about the safety of their family members who are now in Gaza and will take steps to bring them to Canada and reunite them with their family members. Miller also stated that the government will issue them a three-year temporary residency permit.
