A 61-year-old man has died after falling through ice on the Bow River in Calgary on Christmas Day, RCMP said. The Stony Nakoda RCMP reports that the elderly man died on December 25 when the ice collapsed on a body of water near a bridge known as Morley, about 40 minutes from the city. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, he was trapped in the ice and under water. Soon the rescue boat team arrived and tried to rescue him. But his body was found on December 26.According to the police, he fell while standing on the snow and taking pictures. This is the second incident involving a fall in ice-covered bodies of water.
