The New York Times sues AI and Microsoft for copyright infringement.

The New York Times has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI. The New York Times articles were allegedly taken without permission for AI models such as Chat GPT and CoPilot. Microsoft Bing Chat has been renamed Copilot.The New York Times, like many other publishers, is suing for copyright violation. The case report was filed in federal court in Manhattan.According to the court report, the AI chatbots employed AI chatbots without permission in all portions of the Times' copyrighted news articles, investigative series, opinion pieces, reviews, and so on. It is also claimed that such conduct jeopardizes the Times' capacity to provide good articles to its readers.
