The Canadian passport ranks seventh in the Global Passport Index released by Arton Capital, a Montreal-based global citizenship financial advisory company. The index is prepared based on traveler mobility. This year Canada is joined by Malta, Lithuania and Slovenia. Canadian passport has a mobility score of 173.
The ranking takes into account the 117 countries that Canadian passport holders can enter without a visa, the 50 destinations that require a visa on arrival, and the six destinations where Canadian citizens must obtain an electronic travel authorization.
Since 2022, the Canadian passport's mobility score has not fluctuated. The decline only occurred in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions. The UAE is ranked first with a mobility score of 180. UAE passport holders can enter 124 countries visa-free. The US Passport has a mobility score of 174.
