The Alberta Motor Association says the number of people waiting for help with their vehicles is increasing and waiting times are increasing as a result. The AMA says this is the longest waiting time on record in 100 years. Officials say most provinces are facing longer delays for tire, battery boost, flat tire repairs and fuel supply.

The AMA says it received more than 49,000 calls between January 9 and January 17. The AMA says the request for battery boostups is 33 times higher than normal. January 12 Requests piled up. 9,000 applications were received within 24 hours. As the applications increased, so did the delay. As the wait grew, so did people's disappointment. In the absence of immediate help, the crisis worsened.
