The Alberta government will hire internationally educated health workers to address the province-wide health crisis. The provincial government's announcement comes after the federal government announced a $86 million grant to the province to address health sector shortfalls.

Last year, Edmonton's Norquest College received similar funding from the provincial government for an international education program. Through this funding, the number of seats in the international education program was increased from 50 to 250. College academic program manager Isiah Thornton said this has allowed more health workers to be donated across the province.
