Owners are advised not to speak to the media regarding the closure of Service Ontario outlets. About 11 Ontario service stations, including privately owned ones, are slated to close. The letter sent to the owners from the Ministry of Public Business Service Delivery says to refrain from answering the questions of journalists collecting information about the closure and to politely reject the journalists' questions.

The media reports that this is part of the agreement signed by the Ford government with private operators. The media reported that 11 privately operated Service Ontario outlets in the province were being closed without notice and moved to Staples, Wal-Mart locations as part of the transaction.
