2026 FIFA World Cup: First match in Canada in Toronto

FIFA has released the 2026 Football World Cup match schedule. Canada's first match in the series between Mexico, Canada and the United States will be held in Toronto. The 104-match tournament will begin on June 11 in Mexico City and the first match of the tournament in Canada will be played on June 12 at Toronto's BMO Field, the association said. Canada, which is hosting the World Cup for the first time in its history, will host the matches in Toronto and Vancouver. Canada will host a total of 13 matches, with seven in Vancouver and six in Toronto. Both the cities will host five matches each in the group stage. Vancouver will also host two knockout games.

48 teams are participating in the competition. The final will be held on July 19 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
