Public Health reports a case of measles in Montreal. Montreal Public Health announced that the disease was confirmed in a person who returned from a trip to Africa.

The infected person visited a school on Jan. 29, a medical clinic on Jan. 31, and emergency rooms at two pediatric hospitals on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 and 2, Public Health said. Public health officials said contact tracing and doctors have been asked to report suspected cases before waiting for laboratory results.

Other measles cases are likely to occur before February 27 because measles viruses have a long incubation period, health workers said. Symptoms of fifth grade fever include fever, cough, and red rashes on the body.
