Rents rising fastest in Edmonton: report

Edmonton has the fastest annual rent growth in Canada, according to a report from Zumper. Vancouver continues to top the list. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Vancouver is $2,700 per month. Meanwhile, the average rent for a two-bedroom apartment is $3,800.

A one-bedroom house in Edmonton costs $1,270 a month. A month-on-month increase of 1.6 percent. Edmonton recorded a 27 percent increase from February 2023 to February 2024. Edmonton is 21st on the list.

According to the data, Winnipeg recorded the second-fastest annual growth. Rents for a one-bedroom apartment in Winnipeg are slightly higher than in Edmonton, at $1,350 per month.
