A new magnetically levitated (maglev) train designed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) has set a new speed record for high-speed trains. The new train reached a speed of more than 623 kilometers per hour (387 miles per hour) in a test run in a 2 kilometer long vacuum tube.

The South China Morning Post reported that the speed of the train was a significant advance and that it was the first time that an ultra-fast hyperloop train had stabilized while traveling in a vacuum tube. Using maglev technology, the train will be levitated over the tracks using magnetism. This will reduce friction and help you achieve more speed. With this, it is reported that China is very close to the realization of a train with the speed of an airplane.
