Mary Morrow takes over as Supreme Court Justice of Canada

 

Mary Morrow takes over as Supreme Court of Canada Justice. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau officially announced Morrow as a Supreme Court Justice last November. This is a historic moment as the majority of nine justices on the Canadian Supreme Court are women for the first time.

In her welcome address, Mary Morrow said our laws must respect human rights to maintain public confidence in the justice system. The ceremony in Ottawa was attended by Chief Justice Richard Wagner, Justice Minister Arif Virani and other community officials.

Mary Morrow also served on the Alberta Court of King's Bench from 2017 to 2023.
