Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi is the new Deputy Chief of Army Staff

 

Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi has been appointed as the new Vice Chief of Army Staff of India. He received a guard of honor at a ceremony held at South Block. Dwivedi replaced Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar. Upendra Dwivedi, who has served as Deputy Chief of Army Staff and Director General of Infantry, has also served in the Northern Command for two years.
