One killed in Calgary car-Citrain collision

One dead after being hit by a CiTrain car in Calgary. Wednesday's crash happened on Memorial Drive at the overpass above Deerfoot Trail. Calgary police said the sedan hit a silver 2000 Chrysler Intrepid and was dragged a short distance down the track. In the collision, the car hit a pole and was cut in half.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene of the accident rescued a critically injured man from the car and was taken to Foothills Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police said the deceased was a 48-year-old man. Other information is unclear.

In December 2023, in the same area where one person was killed by a car hit by a Citrain.
