Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba marked the second anniversary of Russia's special military operations. In his speech at the United Nations, Kuleba said some diplomats and observers did not believe Ukraine would survive when war broke out in 2022. Two years ago, the Russian military launched an operation against Ukraine, setting off a protracted conflict. Several Western leaders are visiting Kyiv, including the European Union's Ursula von der Leyen, to show solidarity with Ukraine. Last year, Ukraine launched a counter-offensive to retake its territory from Russia, but it was largely unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Russia's representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, said that Moscow did not start the conflict and that Russian special military action would not end until Moscow's goals were met.
