Toronto and GTA transit passengers will no longer pay double fares for travel. Go Transit's one-fare system for local transit riders in Brampton, York and Durham will begin Monday. It is an integrated public transport fare system. The One Fare program, announced by Ontario Premier Doug Ford, ensures many amenities for travelers.

It also aims to address fare duplication on the TTC, which was eliminated in March 2022 when the province eliminated double fares across most of Ontario's transit systems. Officials say the One Fare program could save public transit riders an average of $1,600 a year.
