British Columbia's Supreme Court has approved a multimillion-dollar settlement in a class-action suit against Apple over software updates that slowed down older iPhones. Lawyer KS Garcha said the judge accepted the settlement during the hearing on Tuesday.

A settlement of $14.4 million was approved. He said class members bringing claims could receive between $17.50 and $150 in damages. He added that it can be expected depending on the submission of claims for settlement money. Garcha says there are about nine million eligible people in Canada, excluding Quebec.
