'Land for $10': Huge demand for project in Cochrane

 

Mayor Peter Politis says the $10 Land for Sale campaign in Cochrane is coming to fruition. Those who need land can choose the place they want. Politz said he would then give them the lot for $10. He stated that he received more than 3,000 calls from individuals and companies interested in the program. Apart from discounted land, buyers also get property tax relief. The town has up to 1,500 eligible lots in the settlement area.

Meanwhile, the lack of infrastructure in the city is already causing problems. So some residents are worried about the project. This concern was also shared at the event held at the town hall on Monday. Politis replied that land buyers would be responsible for developing infrastructure on unserviced lots. He added that many other lots are ready to construct buildings. Apart from the economic benefits of housing development, he said, there is hope that development companies will invest in improving the city as a whole.
