Seoul (South Korea): South Korea's antitrust agency has reportedly said it will consider imposing sanctions on meta platforms for allegedly failing to protect users from fraud. Social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram are being planned to be blocked. Korean media reported, citing unnamed sources, that the Korea Fair Trade Commission (FTC) issued a notice to Metak late last year after investigating violations of the country's e-commerce law.

The report also states that the agency's commissioners will meet to formally decide on banning the meta platforms. The agency accused Facebook and Instagram of failing to implement adequate measures to protect and provide redress to users of their marketplaces in the event of sales disputes by e-commerce outlets.
