Thailand legalized marriage among people of the same gender.

 

Bangkok: Thailand legalizes same-sex marriages. New history was made when the Parliament passed the Marriage Equality Bill on Wednesday. Thailand is the third country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. Currently, Nepal and Taiwan are the only countries in Asia that have legalized same-sex marriage.

In Thailand, a bill needs the Senate's approval and the King's assent to become law. The bill was passed by the ruling opposition parties together. 400 out of 415 Members of Parliament voted in favor of the bill. Only 10 voted against.
