Rome: Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni strongly criticized the practice of surrogacy. The Italian prime minister described surrogacy as inhumane. The Prime Minister's criticism calls for a bill to be passed to punish those who practice surrogacy. Maloney also explained that this is an inhumane way of seeing babies as supermarket products.

Surrogacy is already illegal in Italy. In Italy, those who engage in such activities are subject to fines and prison terms. But the Brothers of Italy party led by Meloni is trying to make the penal process stronger. The move is part of the conservative agenda of the Brothers of Italy party.

Meloni said that no one should try to convince her that surrogacy is an act that emphasizes the freedom of each person. They said at the conference held in Rome on Friday that no one should describe it as a way of expressing love. She also explained that she wants surrogacy to be criminalized at the global level
