London: The UK has raised the minimum income limit for sponsoring a family visa to £29,000. Earlier, it was 18,600 pounds.

The government has decided to raise the income limit to £38,700 early next year. This will make it difficult for UK residents to sponsor a visa to bring a family member into the country. The move is part of reducing the migration rate that has skyrocketed post-Covid. Earlier restrictions were imposed including on student visas. A general election will be held in the UK before January 28 next year.

Rising immigration is one of the country's main political poisons. It is predicted that the Conservative Party led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak may face a major defeat in the elections. Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak's government has introduced new regulations.
