Never heard of rare flowering plants? There is one plant that sets itself apart from other plants not only in its flowering but also in its appearance, and this is the Puya alpetris, a plant found in the Andes Mountains of Chile.

This plant is also known as 'alien plant' due to its different form. Now after many years this plant has flowered. There is a huge rush in Britain to see this rare sight. The Puya Andes plant at the Birmingham Botanical Garden in Britain is now in flower. These plants take more than ten years to flower. But once it blooms, it won't wait that long for us. It will fall off within a few days.

So people flock here to witness this rare sight as soon as the authorities have informed those who want to see the blooming Puya alpetris plant to reach the garden as soon as possible.

The garden authorities are now trying to artificially pollinate the flower before the end of the flower spring. This plant is usually pollinated by hummingbirds in Chile. But the authorities have decided to do artificial pollination because there is less possibility of that in the garden.
