Delhi: BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles handed over to the Philippines. The arms exchange is part of a $375 million deal signed by the two countries in 2022. The Indian Air Force has handed over US-made C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft missiles to the Marine Corps of the Philippines. The transfer of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile technology along with the missiles began last month.

It is also interesting to note that India is handing over missile systems at a time when the tensions between the Philippines and China in the South China Sea are escalating. The Philippines will deploy three batteries of BrahMos missile systems along its coast. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, a joint venture between the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Russian Federation's NPO Mashinostroyenia, is one of the most successful missile programs in the world.
