A Leger Online survey found that 57 percent of Canadians feel that freedom of expression is under threat in Canada. 34 percent don't mind the threat. But 23 percent consider the threat serious. They also respond that the threat against freedom of expression is worrying.

36 percent said their freedom of speech is not at risk. Seven percent said they had no answer. Three-quarters of respondents (76 percent) said they feel comfortable expressing their views. But on controversial issues like abortion, gun control, and immigration, only 71 percent expressed freedom of speech. Leger surveyed 1,610 Canadians from April 26 to April 28.
