India's high commissioner wants Canada to rebuild the country's brand for unique talent and skilled workers after criticism that many international students are dying because of exploitation. Speaking at the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations, High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma said the exploiters are undermining the two countries' efforts to improve the technical knowledge of Indian students in Canada.

Most of the students coming to Canada are from India. Fake schools are cheating Indian students. Sometimes the students may face dire consequences. According to Verma, some students died due to exploitation. But he did not specify whether the death was due to suicide.

Many students come from poor families. Parents send their students to study in Canada by selling their house. But he added that illegal colleges are crushing the dreams of students and their families.
