The Quebec government is tightening regulations on sperm donation in the province. The provincial government's decision comes after the release of a documentary which revealed that three men from the same family fathered hundreds of children. Nuovo Info's series 'Pere 100 Enfants' is about women looking to become mothers looking for sperm donors online and three men in a family becoming sperm donors to several women.

Quebec Public Health Director Dr. Luke Boileau responded. He said he wanted to reduce the risks of artificial insemination by giving as many sperm as possible to one donor, as in other countries including France, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Minister of Health Christine Dubey explained that the theme of the documentary is a public health issue. He also clarified that this could be a concern for people who have used procreation services.
