Don't stop on the highway to change a flat tire: CAA-Quebec warns

 

CAA-Quebec makes it illegal to stop a vehicle on the highway to change a flat tire. CAA-Quebec says that if a tire blows out on the highway, you should always try to drive to the next exit without losing control of the vehicle. A flat tire increases the risk of an accident. CAA-Québec therefore explains that drivers should be careful to change flat tires away from heavy traffic.

Additionally, CAA-Quebec Montreal spokesman David Marsil pointed out that there are a few things drivers need to do before changing a flat tire. Drivers need to do things like turn on their hazard lights, call 911, and wait for emergency vehicles. Marsil points out that most accidents are caused by careless driving and speeding.
