Wife's income rises sharply, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's 'lottery', huge increase in wealth

 

The number of billionaires in Britain is dwindling, but Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's wealth has risen sharply, according to the Sunday Times Rich List. Despite challenging financial conditions, Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy's wealth has grown. The couple's net worth rose to 245th place on the list with a net worth of 651 million pounds, which is roughly Rs 6890 crore, from 275th position last year.

While Rishi Sunak earned Rs 23 crore in 2022-23, Aksatha Murthy received Rs 136 crore as dividend last year alone. That is, Akshata Murthy's earnings were more than her husband's. Akshata Murthy's stake in Infosys is the main reason behind the revenue growth this year. Murthy's shares in Infosys, a Bangalore-based IT company founded by Akshatha's father Narayana Murthy, have seen a significant increase in value. This increased by £108.8 million to nearly £590 million in one year. At the same time, the couple's current net worth is lower than in 2022.
