The Canadian government has issued a travel warning for Canadian citizens traveling to certain European destinations this summer season. The federal government issued the warning based on the report that there is a high level of terrorist threat in Europe. Terrorists have attacked several European cities. The warning states that more attacks are currently possible elsewhere in Europe and attacks in Italy cannot be ruled out.

Government buildings, places of worship, airports, other transport hubs, tourist spots, restaurants, bars, markets and shopping centers are at high risk of attack and citizens are warned to be extra vigilant.

It is warned that travel to European countries should be done only after taking all possible precautions. The warning also adds that people should try to travel only based on the government's notifications. Those traveling to Spain, Germany and France have also been advised to be on high alert.
