Indian-American Srini Venkatesan is PayPal's Chief Technology Officer

San Jose (California): PayPal has announced the appointment of Indian American Srini Venkatesan as Chief Technology Officer. Venkatesan will take charge from June 24. Venkatesan will lead the development and implementation of technology across the PayPal ecosystem, including analytics, data science and artificial science.

"Sreeni is a seasoned technologist and leader with a successful track record of building and scaling technology organizations from early-stage startups to the world's largest retailer," said Alex Chris, President and CEO.

Venkatesan joins PayPal from Walmart. Prior to Walmart, Venkatesan oversaw Yahoo's display and video ad technology platform. Venkatesan holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Bharatiyar University.

"I've innovated my career to create new and better ways for consumers to find, shop and buy the things they want and need," said Venkatesan, "and I'm incredibly excited to join PayPal and bring my experiences in technology and retail together to personalize the shopping experiences of consumers."
