Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalee jawan Vishnu, who died a hero's death in the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh, has been sent home. After public darshan at Palote House, Thiruvananthapuram and birth village Nandiyot and SKV School, he was cremated at Santithiram Cemetery. A large crowd including the Governor, Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition reached Vishnu's house to console the family members.
Vishnav's return is leaving behind the dream of his own home and the great attachment to his native land. Relatives and locals participated in the funeral ceremony of Vishnu, who died a hero's death in the Maoist attack. Thankfully, the military vehicle reached home at around 7 am. By that time, the whole country had flooded. All the sadness that had been suppressed until then came out.
At 10 o'clock the dead body was brought in front of Nandy Panchayat. Many people also paid their last respects there. The last trip was to the schoolyard where Vishnu had awakened his military ambition. Students and NCC cadets were waiting there. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan also visited the school and paid his respects. The cremation was done with official honors at Shantikuteeram public crematorium, Palode, Karimankot, around 12 noon.
