Chennai: Indian 2 directed by Shankar starring Kamal Haasan hit the theaters on Friday. The film is a sequel to the all-time blockbuster Indian film released in 1996. The film collected Rs 55 crore on the first day. But the film received widespread negative reviews.
Now it is reported that the makers of the film have taken a shocking decision. Indian 2 received a mixed response from the audience on day one. One of the major criticisms raised by the audience was the 3-hour length of the film. The Pinkvilla report says that the makers have decided to take action on the criticism immediately.
On the second day of the film, the runtime of the film has been reduced significantly. The film is trimmed on the second day. It is reported that 20 minutes have been removed from the film. That means the Indian 2 makers can be assumed to have accepted the negative feedback they received, says the Pinkvilla report.
I also have to see if Indian 2's revised runtime can help the film's chances of winning in any way. It will be known only when the reports come in which parts have been omitted. It is reported that the film which was earlier 3 hours and 4 minutes long has been reduced to 2 hours and 40 minutes. Indian 2 will hit the theaters from July 14 as a trimmed version.
