Kathmandu: 18 dead in plane crash in Nepal. The plane skidded off the runway while taking off from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport and crashed and caught fire. Nepali media reported that 18 bodies were found and the pilot was in critical condition.

The flight of Shaurya Airlines, which had left for Pokhara, crashed. Images and videos of the wreckage of the burnt plane have been released by the media. It is reported that the fire is currently under control. There were 19 people in the flight including crew and technical staff.

The incident happened around 11 am on Wednesday. News agency PTI reported that the injured pilot MR Shakya was shifted to Kathmandu Medical College Hospital. It is not clear how the plane skidded off the runway. Tribhuvan is the main international and domestic airport of Nepal
