Gaza: 121 people were killed in an air strike by Israeli tanks on Monday in Khan Younis, Gaza. Hundreds of people were injured. Within 24 hours, around one and a half lakh people fled the area. Israel stepped up its airstrikes ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the US Congress. The attack came after the Israeli army ordered Palestinians from various districts, including Mawazi, which Israel had previously declared safe. Along with the ground attack, there was also an air attack.
About 400,000 people live in the areas targeted by Israel. The attack happened when many of them were starting to leave the place. Two clinics in Khan Younis were damaged in the attack. Israel has instructed to evacuate these areas saying that it is planning to launch an attack against Hamas. It was also said that the attack will continue in central and southern Gaza. The total death toll in Gaza stands at 39,006.
