Silver for Neeraj in Javelin; Pakistan star Arshad Nadeem wins gold with Olympic record

 

Paris: Neeraj Chopra wins silver in javelin throw at Olympics. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won the gold after defeating the current gold medalist Neeraj. Nadeem won the gold by throwing an Olympic record distance of 92.97 meters. Neeraj threw his season best of 89.45. Five of Neeraj's six attempts were fouls. This is India's first silver medal at the Paris Olympics. Andersen Peters of Granada took the bronze. The player won bronze by throwing 88.54 meters.
